6 SUPER TIPS FOR
STOPPING SINUS INFECTION
|
|
|
|
|
After more than 30 years of focused attention to treating sinus infections, my own and my patients, the following products have been proven to be most effective for both quickly relieving the symptoms and in preventing sinus infections.
For 10 years prior to 1987, I averaged 3 to 4 sinus infections per year, had the diagnosis of chronic sinusitis, and was told by an ENT physician I’d have to live with this misery. In the 21 years since then, I’ve cured chronic sinusitis and have had a total of 5 sinus infections.
Two of these products are only needed with an acute infection – Allimed, the natural antibiotic; and Sinupret Plus, the herbal anti-inflammatory. Each of the others should become a part of your daily preventive maintenance program, although the frequency and dosage is lower without an infection. For example, the SinuPulse can used once daily for prevention, but 3 to 4 times daily with an infection. Although I recommend using the Sinus Survival Nasal Spray and Eucalyptus Oil along with Vitamin C, 3 times daily on a preventive basis, they should each be used more frequently (and with higher doses of C) when you have a sinus infection.

TIP 1: SinuPulse Elite Nasal Irrigator
|
|
|
Saline irrigation may be the single
most helpful treatment in quickly relieving the discomfort of a sinus
infection. This procedure can result in dramatic
relief from pain by reducing swelling in the nasal passages, causing
a reduction of pressure in the sinus, as well as helping to empty the
sinus of its infected mucus. Research has shown that pulsatile
irrigation100
times more effective
than other forms of irrigation
in removing bacteria from the mucous membranes, thus helping
tremendously in treating sinus infections.
The SinuPulse Elite is a state-of-the-art
sinus irrigation system with a calibrated pulse rate to help restore
ciliary function. It offers a wide range of pressure control for
individual comfort and optimal function, quiet operation, a flex tip
design, and non-clog features along with a large water tank. The
Advanced Sinus Tip provides a gentle mist spray (Atomizer) and rinse.

TIP 2: Allimed capsules – a natural "antibiotic"
|
|
|
Studies have proven Allimed to be
effective in treating and preventing the common cold (anti-viral
properties), and in killing bacteria that have been resistant to
antibiotics (anti-bacterial), especially MRSA – the “flesh-eating”
staph bacteria. Other published studies have shown it to be effective
against candida albicans (anti-fungal). It is also odor-free.
Allimed serves as our “natural
antibiotic.”
Allimed contains 100% pure allicin, the
active ingredient in garlic. Allicin is the “mother” substance
that breaks down to form a family of compounds that have a beneficial
effect upon human health and general well-being. Garlic has been
used for thousands of years to treat a variety of ailments from
hypertension and coughs, to atherosclerosis (hardening of the
arteries) and diarrhea. However, nearly all garlic supplements are
largely inactivated by stomach acid rendering them incapable of
producing any allicin. Recent studies have shown that less than 5% of
the potential allicin is actually released by the vast majority of
garlic supplements. Allimed, manufactured through a patented
distillation process, is the first garlic supplement to produce a
100% allicin yield.

TIP 3: Sinus Survival Eucalyptus Oil
|
|
|
|
Of
the approximately 700 species of eucalyptus on the planet, only 10
are considered medicinal. The gauge used to measure medicinal
activity is Cineole content. The Sinus Survival Eucalyptus,
E-Polybractea, provides 82.1% Cineole content – the highest
available in the world.
Cineole imparts anti-viral,
anti-bacterial, expectorant, and anti-inflammatory properties
to the Eucalyptus, thus making it an excellent adjunct to the
treatment for sinus infections. It has also been effectively used
for treating upper (the common cold) and lower respiratory tract
infections (bronchitis) and inflammatory conditions; muscle aches,
arthritis, and joint-related conditions; burns (including sunburn),
warts, cold sores, and insect bites.

TIP 4: Sinus Survival Nasal Spray
|
|
|
The
Sinus Survival Nasal Spray is a highly effective anti-inflammatory
and anti-fungal formula for treating and preventing sinus infections,
chronic and fungal sinusitis. It has been the foundation of the Sinus
Survival Program for nearly 15 years, but this newly formulated
product is perhaps the most
potent natural anti-inflammatory nasal spray
on the market. There is no alcohol, and the additional Grapefruit
seed extract acts as both a preservative as well as having
anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial properties.
Ingredients: Saline, Aloe Vera, Calendula,
Yarrow leaf, and Grapefruit seed extract.

Sinupret
Plus
is
an herbal combination containing gentian root, primrose flowers with
calyx, common sorrel herb, elder flowers, and vervain wort. It has
been used in Germany for treating
inflammation of the upper respiratory tract
for over 70 years, and I’ve seen excellent results with both
treating and preventing sinus infections. Its efficacy has been
demonstrated and confirmed with numerous scientific studies.

In
nearly 40 years as a family doctor, Dr. Ivker’s believes vitamin C
has been extremely effective in the treatment
and prevention of colds, allergies, and sinus infections.
Since colds are the most common cause of sinus infections, their
prevention is essential to optimal respiratory health. In addition to
its antioxidant
properties
and enhancing
the immune response
and white blood cell activity, vitamin C has an anti-inflammatory
effect; can block allergic reactions and rebuild healthy mucous
membranes, making it a natural antihistamine;
is essential to the manufacture of collagen, the main supportive
protein of skin, tendon, bone, cartilage, and connective tissue;
facilitates the absorption of dietary iron; and, in conjunction with
vitamin E, strengthens arterial walls.
